http://www.technologyreview.com/computing/38349/

This article discussed how Michael Knuepfel is taking the regular touch screen and making enhancements to it to become more interactive.  Knuepfel, from New York University's Interactive Telecommunications Program, created devices to enable the screens to recognize more parts of a user's touches.

He ehances touch screens by detecting the way a user's finger pattern changes  through the electrical charge on the screen.

He also uses pulse, lighting and styling thru different additional products.
